the toothbrush
he had selected
green
in the shape of a broken
branch
this morning was
found on
a bathroom floor

she tapped on the window
but he was talking
to a waitress

I am sick
she said
and to prove it
she coughed
sneezed
and blew her nose

his left hand
touched his right hand

talking to her
he leaned back
cross-legged
but his shoes
were dirty
